A Space for Understanding and Change

In treatment with me, I want you to have a place where you can talk openly about what is happening in your life and begin to make sense of it. We can slow things down and look together at your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and experiences. I may ask questions, help you put words to something that has been difficult to explain, or point out patterns that we notice together. You do not have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can work through it together, at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach is grounded in Sullivan-style Interpersonal Psychotherapy. I am interested in getting to know not only what you are struggling with, but also how your experiences with other people have shaped the way you see yourself and what you expect from relationships. We may talk about family, attachment, conflict, loss, trauma, or times when you have felt misunderstood or disconnected from others. By looking closely at these experiences together, we can begin to understand why certain patterns keep showing up and what you might want to do differently.

Understanding Is Important, but So Is What You Do Next

I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing and skills-based interventions when appropriate Sometimes understanding why something happens is only part of the work. I believe therapy can provide both a deeper understanding of where our struggles come from and practical tools to help us respond to them differently.

I have been practicing counseling since 2024. I hold a license in Mental Health Counseling with Diagnostic Privilege (LMHC-D), and I am a currently a doctor-in-training, obtaining a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Adelphi University. I have experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and with a range of mental health and substance use concerns. My clinical experiences have taught me the importance of approaching each client as an individual and understanding their experiences within the context of their relationships, culture, and personal perspectives.

I see therapy as a conversation where we can be curious together. You can bring in the parts of your life that feel confusing, painful, frustrating, or even difficult to say out loud. My job is not to tell you who you should be, but to help you understand yourself more clearly and figure out what you want your relationships and your life to look like.
